Discover Serenity Farm at our Bread & Breakfast (B&B) Retreat
Escape the Ordinary – Enjoy a Scenic Historical Experience!
Wake up to where HISTORY was made, resisted, and constructed. Our lovingly restored 1860s farmhouse sits on 69 private acres of rolling fields and virgin forest with abundant wildlife and flora. Once a thriving dairy farm, it now co-exists with a wildlife preserve, vineyard, and several active farms. For YOU, Serenity Farm Retreat offers a personal respite of rural tranquility.
Slow Down and Relax
Just 19 miles from the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport, your serendipitous journey includes both the slow pace of rural life AND the stimulation of nearby urban adventure. This unique combination is closer than you think. At Serenity Farm Retreat, the only rush is to relax under the maple trees or hike across the farm and through the forest. Or, lounge on our Zen hammock. Start your day with a leisurely breakfast beneath a towering Maple tree, or observe families of deer wander by as you sip your morning coffee or evening tea. Maybe a soaring hawk or circling Turkey Vulture will pique your interest.
Every Visit comes with the Reward of Slow-Paced Serenity
Serenity Farm Retreat offers more than a room! Your stay is a true escape, with only two available guest rooms. Peace and Quiet is assured as is your personal privacy. The house and exterior is WiFi accessible with a 55 inch tv in the living room and 43 inch tv in the second floor guestroom. Enjoy your favorite streaming program or sports event. And, feel free to chat with the farmhouse’s owner and resident. He is an acclaimed writer and university professor who will greet you with a warm welcome and provide information about local events.
Adventure Awaits, Only Minutes Away
Craving culture or a night on the town? You’re a short drive from Rochester’s museums, Geneva Theater, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Eastman Kodak house for unique programs, The Little Theater for independent films, night clubs, Dinosaur’s famous bbq, Strong Children’s Museum, public and private universities, and lively public festivals. Cheer for the AAA minor league Red Wings baseball or Amerks hockey teams, catch a music concert, or stroll the Erie Canal’s historic pathways or take a cruise on a historic boat. Did you know that Foreigner’s front man—Lou Gramm—still lives nearby? That Grammy Award winning jazz flugelhorn player and composer Chuck Mangione and Saturday Night Live actress Kristen Wiig grew up in Rochester? The list of local luminaries is impressive!
Love the Small Town Ambiance?
Honeoye Falls and Avon’s charming Main Streets are just a few minutes away by automobile. Or, visit a nearby Finger Lakes vineyard and historic town. Or, continue to Buffalo (1 hour drive) and then cross the border to Canada. Toronto is only 3 ½ hours away!
Travel Through Time
Every acre whispers history - from the pursuit of freedom via the Underground Railroad and Quaker Abolitionists to Suffragette pioneers of Women’s Political Rights. The inspiring speeches of Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony echo throughout the historical landscape. Want a unique local experience? Visit the Hope Memorial cemetery or the Highland Park nature preserve in Rochester.
Nature Is Your Playground
At Serenity Farm Retreat, you can wander the fields and forest while enjoying a beautiful, timeless sunset. Take home a bag of fresh fruit or bouquet of flowers at a nearby farm. Or, freshly baked Rhubarb pies, organic eggs, or other farm products. Enjoy searching for antiques or ‘thrifting’ for bargains at local shops and public markets. Fish, hike, or just watch the sun set as deer stop by for an evening snack while hawks soar overhead looking for their next meal. Don’t forget to find the vulture’s nest atop the old corn silo!
